Since March 2020 when Covid-19 virus spread in Armenian and Artsakh and education organizations moved to interactive online learning. EduArmenia cofounders have decided to provide some online workshops to help Armenian educators, and the workshops’ themes were, appropriately, online learning methods and approaches.
More than 100 short term workshops provided on EduArmenia lab school online platform. The workshops topics are different online learning tools (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Learning Apps, etc.,), online learning approaches (Flipped classroom) 21st century education challenges, solutions and etc. EduArmenia has had speakers from 50 countries, workshops audience exceeded 10.000 people. The second type of the professional development is the long-term workshops. In “Education innovative methods” workshop speaker Irina Ghazazyan (Canada, Toronto) leads listeners through a project lasting 4 months with 60 teachers participating in this project to enrich their teaching methods.
Another long-term project was “Education organization and management” provided by EduArmenia co-founders. It lasted 2 months having 12 participants concentrating on challenges associated with school leadership. Participants were introduced to education management tools, approaches, international organizations’ education expectations and standards and more.
To have more applicable and tangible results, co-founders have commenced a new type of the workshop: collaborative planning with teachers. Collaborative planning workshops consist two parts. During the first part of the planning workshop participants learn theoretical ideas which might be new theory of education or new concept. In the second part of the planning workshop teachers have practical online planning where they apply theories or new learning tools to their syllabi or working plans.
