PROGRAM LAUNCHING​

In 2017 NGO “Association of Young Historians” was founded by Lilit Mkrtchyan and organized its first free professional development programs for a group of teachers. The main theme of the professional development program was education innovative methods.

During the summer of 2018 EduArmenia program co-founders held three days of free professional development programs for teachers from Armenia and Artsakh. Professional development participants gave consistently positive feedback about the program, inspiring organizers to extend the program. In May 2019 Lilith Mkrtchyan held three days of professional development in the Kashatagh district of Artsakh. In July 2019 three one day free professional development programs were held. The first professional development program was in one of Yerevan school, the other two were in the Yerevan State University. Two programs targeted teachers and school administrative staff while another program focused on university lecturers. Teachers professional development programs’ themes were 21st century education challenges and contemporary teaching/learning methods. The lecturers’ professional development program consisted of scientific research methods and academic honesty policies. There were 80 participants in these PD programs.

These courses proved that two specialist efforts and resources are not enough to improve the whole education system and there is a huge need of new resources. This was a starting point to unify widespread scientific and education potential to develop the students and educators of Armenia and Artsakh. In Autumn 2019 on the base of the NGO “Association of the Young Historians” EduArmenia Armenian volunteer education scientific program was launched.
